Mabuhay to all!!!

Actually, i've been thinking and i've seen these alot in one of our local hardware stores, compact flourescent that only have 10watts but has an output of 30 watt light. I dont know if this will work for my soon to setup 75g FOWLR and macros. I am planning to get 4pcs (55 watts each) but has an output of 250watts, it costs around 8-10 dollars each. the brands are philips,GE, akira etc.

so any advises and suggestions

Uly

PS. actually they are energy savers too, it says on their label that you are saving around 30% energy consumption.

Most of these bulbs you are talking about are the wrong color temperature reef or fish only tanks, and run between 4500K and 5700K,Just be careful what you get. Look for bulbs that are 6500k or higher.

Hey Buddy! Those lights are just fine for use, but get the "daylight" as they are either 6400K or 6500K depending upon the brand. Not only are those lights great for a refuge but I also use them over my coral display tank as the main lighting system that runs for 12 hours a day, the single 250w MH that I have is used to simulate the "high noon" effect as found in nature (9am-2pm).

For details on my lights, scroll down this page.
