Well Randy its a stepping stone on the road going skimmerless.A healthy thick sea grass bed romoves so many nitrates that they have to be added to the tank to keep the grass alive.Put that into a two tank system, one grass bed and one reef tank and you could have a skimmerless system. Its the wave of the future for reef tanks.

So, here is a pic of the tank when it is clearish.

Since I will be attempting to breed yellowhead jawfish in this tank, I made some holes for them from PVC pipe (the closer pipes) The pipes in the back will be the spray bar from the return pump.

Alrighty folks, I ordered my return pump, the aqualifter pump and (2) of the 65w fixtures! Everything should be here by the end of next week

I will then officially be able to have all my tanks looped together!

As I was doing some research, I found the page that the pic is from and found out it is Widgeon Grass (Ruppia maritima). It is actually just a freshwater plant that can take a lot of salt. Thought I would share.

Woohoo, I got my "tennis court" lights today! They are a little larger than what I was expecting, but that is no big deal. I will take a few pics of them tomorrow.

I've purchased some sea grass along with mangrove from gulf coast eco. I wouldn't recommend buying from them. The product came a day late and was on its last root. It was a $44.00 lesson. Try someone else!

Thanks, ther are a few places in Hamilton I want to check out, but not until I have a little more money.

I mounted the lights today to a 2x4 that spans across my tank. I asked a good family friend to wire the lights to a switch and he said he was gonna be busy until the end of this week. I will give him a call Wed. or Thurs. To see when he will do it. Hopefully by this time next week Everything in my system will be up and running!

Now just to find some seagrass.....
