Default What to Grow

OK so I know that having Macro algae in a fuge is a good thing...(thanks to elliott's wonderful sea grass articles. but what type. Cheato, just a plain old plant rock, sea lettuce....so many choices...I would want something my fish would enjoy nibbling on and that is also benefical to the tank. I think there's something like Mangroves too which I have no idea what they are. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: What to Grow

I have had a variety of plants. I have had mangroves, but would suggest a mud substrate with those. I would say uour best bet is cheato or Ulva sp.

My tang and coral beauty love the ulva aka sea lettuce.

Aquarium Fish: Tropical Freshwater Fish and Saltwater Fish for Home Aquariums has both and www.sealifeflorida.com has the ulva when in season. sealifes Ulva comes flourishing wiht life like amphipods and whatnot.
