To answer your question..your the match you just gotta catch it. Most people find the rock it hides in then dips it in fresh water. When the mantis leaves the rock they catch it/ remove the rock then dispose in a way they see fit. Google about removing mantis shrimp to find some other ways, I know they are out there!

Yes. The STONEFISH, Good luck getting ahold of one, and it would kill anything in your tank but yes IT would defeat your mantis shrimp and take the aqua-proverbial crown.

look for it on wiki. It is the most poisonous fish in the world and lives on the ocean floor looking like a harmless Rock. A harmless rock that would make you wish your arm could be amputated after a sting.

Whatever the case, if you get it out I'm sure someone would be interested in it so you don't have to kill it.

Actually it was sally lightfoot Jim, and they are only good for mantis that are same size or smaller than thier body, and they can become a bit problematic themselves when they get big. I still like them though just because they are a neat critter themselves.

The sally lightfoot wont actively hunt the mantis, but since they are all over the rockwork eventually they will wander into the manis' territory and can defend themselves pretty well against a mantis attack.

I am getting some stonefish in the next couple of weeks. I have several wholesalers trying to get them for me. I breed Venomous lizards and Crotalids for a living so the venomous stonefish is right up my alley. When I get them I will post photos here.
