| Here are 2 I took last night...lighting isn't too good. Behind her (yes...I have decided it is a "her"--no, I don't know for sure) is a shell as big as my hand. Also notice the bumblebee snails...about 3/4" long. This is what happens when you decide to eat my polyps. Mantis food! She hasn't eaten any of them yet. I fed her a piece of shrimp on a skewer today though, and she took it immediately. Maybe the snails will get a stay of execution. ![]() ![]() |

| Funny you should mention it. ![]() I had to get her a bigger home...a 20 long that will do for now. She has been a fantasic addition to my home. Very interactive. Last week she (and now I believe I was right, that she is a she)began to franticly gather every bit of shell and crushed coral available in the tank. Today she refused food for the first time ever and is a darker brownish color. I think she is beginning her first molt in my care!!! Very soon she will inherit my 55 when I upgrade my reef to a 280 and my predator to a 180. I have physicly had to restrain myself from adding another mantis to my collection. Maybe when I upgrade her tank I can get another species. What a facinating creature! I am still very much in love. ![]() |
