Default Even cooler mantis shrimp video

Kind of dry and science-y, but from an actual mantis shrimp researcher. More than you ever wanted to know about this animal.

I found the coolest thing to be the fact that the shrimp seems to take advantage of something known as "cavitation". Well known to boaters, this happens when something moves through the water so fast that the water flash boils (due to extreme low pressure) and creates a bubble. When this bubble collapses, a lot of force is released. Enough force to chew up a solid bronze or stainless steel boat propeller.

18.5 minutes long, but really cool. There is some amazing high speed video (slowed down from 20,000 frames per second to 15 frames per second), as well as recordings of spooky mantis shrimp noises and strike force data.

I loved the video but I must say I was kinda disapointed that they didnt even talk about the eyes of the Mantis shrimp...But still a very sweet video.
