that is awsome! My friend has a mantis, and weve fed it emerald crabs, damsels, shrimp, snails, etc. Anything alive and crawling that goes in the tank gets eaten. That is a good video of your mantis.

Thanks man!! That's my spearer so I can only feed him shrimp, fish, and other soft foods. But my peacock is probably going to get a small blue crab soon or maybe some shrimp.

my friend has 2 mantis shrimps and he feeds them by hand. They are not that big yet, but they several inches long.

Mantis' are very special creatures and are not meant for fighting purposes...while most of us don't want these "nusienses" in our tank if you do decide to buy one and keep it seperately then you should know they need as much attention as the next salt water project. Please don't buy a mantis just to make it fight something.

I know seriously, Im with you.
I caught a lobster once at the little stream here and kept it in my tank for a few days. He was such a good boy, loved flakes lol. But then he started getting out of the tank. my dog would stop bariking and it ws the lobster in front door. It never hurt anything but i didnt kep it with any fish.

hah, I feed him once every other day and I give him live foods about once every two weeks so he has hard shelled foods so he works his appendages out. If you don't let him "work out" his hammers, they can fall off and he will have to regrow them.

It was a 10g and the hole for the power filter was too big so he swam up to the heater and i guess he climbed out. when i moved the heater, i have no idea how he got out the second and third time lol I think there was a forth before i returned him.
