Nice tank Spanko

What type of skimmer do you run in that thing?? and how well does it work?

Is you foxface happy in such a small tank? I have one in my 55 gal FOWLR and I thought that it was too small for him. Not trying to pass judgement just curious.

Hey Marine1 thank you for looking. Yeah the FoxFace is small right now and he will be moving out soon. Like I said this is the third one I have had, all have gone back to the LFS for trade in on the next, very healthy. After this one I will wait a while to see what happens with the Caulerpa before getting another.
The skimmer is an Oceanic biocube skimmer. It works well enough to get some medium colored brown tea out once a week.

I think #4 is breath taking and I have the same kind of damsel, she scoops up rocks in her mouth and spits them all aver the place, lol. I need to pay for decorating. If that's not a blue damsel then srry, I do need new glasses badly

Hello all, sorry I have not gotten back before now but for some reason I am not getting e-mail notification on this thread?????

AdamJ the camera is a Minolta Dimage Z1. Nothing special as I am not a photographer and it was an easy camera to use.
The pond screen top was very easy to build. Went to a pond supply store and bought a package of 3/8" pond screen. Went to Home Depot and bought some plastic screen framing with all of the connectors to make a frame. The plastic frame uses a spline just like a regular window screen does. Just cut the framing to fit, cut the pond screen to fit and attach the screen with the spline. Really not hard at all.

dori9941 that is a blue\green chromis. Thank you for you nice comments.

Your were absolutely correct sir. I got a larger specimen this time and it is doing great. It is probably about 3+", the ones I was not having any luck with in the past were 2-". Thank you for that I really like the clam and it is looking pretty colorful at this point.

I need to get a screen top like that on mine. My clown keeps jumping into the sump (well, maybe a few times a month). Nice looking tank though! What size are those koralias (correct me if I'm wrong)?

Remember that it is a bare bottom tank so less chance for any sandstorms.
Those are a #3 and #4 Koralia. As you can see they are placed in the back corners pointed at the opposite front corners. The collide in the middle of the tank and there is some real random flow as a result. the Pteregorgia gorgonian in the front center flows in all different directions at different times.

Looking at the tank with the magnifying glass tonight and found this tiny suncoral. Smaller than the diameter of a pen. You can see some small feather duster worms and spirorbids around it.

Looking in the tank last night at a spot that had a few hitch hiker zoas on it and they have multiplied and actually starting to look pretty nice. They are on a rock at the back of the tank that you have to go around to the side and back to see so really have not been keeping track of them.

Well had to get the foxface out, getting to big. So to do this had to take all rocks out.
So, from the beginning of the tank almost 2 years ago my original intent was to learn what I could. Water quality, inhabitants, etc. etc. I had an end goal of a anemone and clown tank or a jawfish tank.

Well have added about 3 inches of coarse sand and set up a patch reef or Bommie, an island of coral surrounded by sand.

Here are some pics. There is a blue spotted jawfish and a purple firefish in the tank but they are new today and just chillin out of camera reach. Will get them in future updates.

Hope you like!!!!!
