Well a funny thing happened sense I got him out of the 55 gallon and put him in the nano.

I kept him in the nano for a month then switched him back to the 55 gallon the damsel left them alone, he totally changed, I still have him to this day.

I have grown attached to him, the little burger

hey ace...i have a flame scallop and an electric flame scallop. they seem to be able to survive just about anything. i was wondering though...is it possible for the electric flame scallop to lose its light show?? both of my scallops love to wedge themselves into crevices and in caves, no matter how much i try to discourage it. i cant really remember the last time i actually saw that fantastic light show from it. just curious. i just need to put batteries in my new canon digital camera and i will post some pics.

I was looking for a responsible lfs because my favorite responsible lfs went out of business I was heart broken, so I had to look for anouther lfs well I found one. The people arnt very smart in the saltwater fish when I ask them a question he got out a ripped up book and started flipping through pages.

---------------------I thought to my self (at least I got reef builders) --------------

There fish don't look very good there not bad but not perfect there, corals look very good so I decided to take a trial test to see if they are worth it the electric flame scallop is doing great so I mite just go back

I have noticed that if they don't get light they wont light up.
I had a crevice in the rocks I thought would be perfect for him to sit so when I put him in the tank I set him there. He was in the light at first, lighting up but later he went deeper in the crevice ware he was not getting allot of light he did not light up I was confused?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? !?!

So I went and maid him mad I maid him clamp up (IN A NICE WAY) and moved him in direct light he was lighting up !!great!!
Evan at night he wont light up I don't know if that is natural,,So I have come to a conclusion to light up he requires light.

What type of food are you feeding him???
Are you spot feeding???

hey ace, it is a good thing you diidnt get the shaving brush, i got about 6 for my 30, and they just make the biggest mess!

the little "leaves" fall off and go all over the palce and you cant get them when they go in the crevaces, and they just sit there and rot.

I have been absent lately reason so much to do so little time to do it in well I'm back now, so hears the update.

The nano hasn't suffered at all, it has been thriving with a new fish it looks better now then ever before.

But don't let me tell you, let the pictures speak for them selves

Well hear is the new fish it is a purple fire-fish.

Well the camera I am using Du's not pick up all of the colors of the fish is much brighter than this.

I will have a picture of the green star polyp when it opens up (today was watter change day) it was not so happy.

Well The hair stuff is called green hair algae very hard to get rid of.

I have it to.

Well it is not that hard you just need to check your phosphates that is what algae eats

To help get rid of your algae phosphates need to be reduced.

Sum steps you can do to get rid of phosphates are......
1.....you need to test your phosphates to see if they are to high if they are-
0 phosphates are best
2.......just do moor frequent watter changes with RO water-

3........Get sum phosphate removing pads they help do the job-

4.......And if that Du's not work you may need to (like I did) get a fish that eat green hair algae like the law-mower Blinny or the emerald crab (the Blinny is better) or both.

My 55 gallon tank looked like a green carpet I put thees steps in please it almost cleared it all up now it looks very nice.

Good luck on getting rid of it ------

Well its time to upgrade the old nano profile.

Some of the new editions include leather toadstool coral, green Mandarin Dragonet and a peppermint shrimp.

All of the corals are doing great the green stare polyp has grown like a weed and I have spliced a very small portion of it (experiment) and it is doing great as well.

The leather toadstool coral has gotten conferable and has been looking great.

I got the green mandarin dragonet to keep my pod situation under control.

Moor pictures coming soon and I am going to try to get a video of the nano so you can get a better view of the fish and the peppermint shrimp.
