Couple of things, and remember these are to help you out

1. Your water level shouldn't be that low. In mine it stays right at the rim all the time.

2. You aren't USING that damsel to cycle your tank are you? I sure hope not...

3. The rock looks awesome (you thought it was gonna be more criticism didn't you?)! Keep the updates rollin'

I filled my tank up to the rim shortly after I took the picture of the tank.

And no I am not using that damsel to cycle my tank it was cycled to near completion till my family bought some fish to put in there and the damsel wood not leave them alone (kept nipping at them) so I had to put him in the nano or throw him out (I didn't want to do that) so I put him in the nano till I can take him back to the pet store.

My nano was cycled with a store bought shrimp.

BY the way is there any way to fit any more live rock in to the tank I only have 9 pounds of live rock I would like to get at least 3 more pounds ( going to tight in there )

Hi ACE

Just wondering what fish and how many you have considered putting in there? Tank looks great, water is crystal clear. You mentioned getting nano Skimmer is that still the plan?

Sorry I worded that last post wrong my family had that damsel in there 55 gallon and wen they bought some clowns for the 55 gallon the damsel wood not leave them alone (kept nipping at them) so I had to put him in the nano or throw him out (I didn't want to do that) so I put him in the nano till I can take him back to the pet store.

I plan on putting 2 fish in there as fore what ripe I was hoping that you guys would help me out ether 2 very small clowns or 2 fire fish Firefish Goby - Purple (Nemateleotris decora)

YES I PLAN ON GETTING A SKIMMER any suggestions on what type is best I want to hide it in the back if I can???

Ok, I was just checking on that damsel

As for the rockwork, if your willing to do a little expoxy work you could create some cool little caves and stuff on top of what you have, just a thought.

I'm more of a fan of the ocellaris clown for small nanos, but firefish wouldn't be a bad choice either. Really up to your personal preference.

And as far as skimmers go, very few will go into a nano tank unless you make special plumbing to do it. The Fission Nano skimmer will work, but I don't know how well. From what I've been advised by very experienced nano keepers on other boards, no skimmer in a nano. It removes nutrients from the water too quickly. My advice would be to just keep on top of your water changes. However, still kind of a personal preference I think.

The reason for getting a skimmer was to stop the film on the top of the water if there is any other way to take care of that I wont get a skimmer ( because I don't want to take minerals out of the water)

I will try that rock work it sounds cool and will look cool to.

THANKS!!!

Check out Sapphire for a skimmer: Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
Theirs are designed to fit in one of the back chambers. I'm planning on getting one for my Aquapod 12 gal. I'd rather have it than not. From what I hear the Fission skimmer can be very tricky to use. Some love it & some hate it.

Hi Ace

Have you loked at a Royal Grama? When you get a chance could you post a picture of the night lighting Please? I also agree that a Clown would be good choice with Anemone! The Fire Fish Goby is Awesome too.

Yes, I use this skimmer in my 5 gallon (DIY). Its been running for about 3 weeks and I think it does pretty good. I turned it off for about 30 minutes yesterday while feeding my fish and I noticed the difference. There is a filmy layer on top of water without skimmer.

Here's my setup. Advice always welcome (said the newb).
