Default Christmas Tree Worm Rock and Pepperment Shrimp

I purchased a Christmas Tree Worm Rock today and was told at the LFS that everything in my tank and with my current setup should be good for this guy. I am aware of how difficult they are to keep... my question is, I have a peppermint shrimp to keep Aptasia at bay. As soon as the new Christmas Tree Worm Rock acclimated, the Peppermint shrimp was all over it - he doesn't seem to be killing the worms, but he is doing something to each of their burrows. I have looked online and I am not finding any info as to whether or not he is trying to kill the worms or just cleaning the tubes... anyone have any idea?

Thanks!

Default Re: Christmas Tree Worm Rock and Pepperment Shrimp

I have both of them in my tank and haven't noticed any issues. The shrimp doesn't bother to go on the rock that the X-mas tree worms are on. I also read that keeping the X-mas tree worms were hard but I still have the same number I started with over a year ago. Good luck. I hope they live in harmony after they settle in together.
