All I have read about featherdusters is that they prefer medium flow. It may be fine where it is. What are you feeding it?

I was thinking, Ed, since you are looking to do a coral tank, you might want to check out the sampler pack of food at Welcome to Reef Nutrition. A number of us are using those products. I know it seems pricey but you get phytofeast for the featherdusters, and rotifers and pods for hard corals and LPS corals (Plus some live copepods for your live rock). With a 10 gallon tank, that food should last until it expires! It is an interesting site to check out anyway...

I got Dt's live Marine phytopankton Premium Reef Blend my LFS said that is what he uses at home and at the shop. He said to turn off filter add 1/4 teespoon an restart filter in 1/2 to 1 hour. There was another food but he said I did not need it till I got more in the tank.

Hmmm, I don't get Dt in my neck of the woods. I was using Marine Snow. He's right about purchasing the other foods. You have time!

Looks decent as far as phytoplankton goes.
Yeah featherdusters pull their crowns in often. Sometimes you won't see them for awhile. They do it sometimes when hey get scared and sometimes for laughs. It is normal.

I received mine at the beginning of June, and it is varying. One bottle is good until mid August another is good until mid September. The website claims that their is a back order, but I received mine within a week of ordering it! The live pods can be kept in the fridge for a few weeks. The live pods cost about $24 from Liveaquaria, so once you add in 3 extra bottles of food, it seems like a good deal. And since Ed is keeping a coral tank with other invertebrates, I cannot see where it would hurt to have a little variety!

That sounds good to me. I was wondering about the copapods things ( use creative reating there) and if I need some added. I added a frag rock yesterday with mushroom polips and a purple mushroom on it. ( yes I know I rushing things ) but I got it for free . A man I met at the LFS was thining out his tank and offerd it so I jumped. On looking at the purple mushroom I discoverd I had 3 others growing on my live rock Hichhikers . There are a lot of other thing on the LR but as yet I dont know what thay are . Time will tell .

The Free frag came from a custmer at the store . He Had me follow him to his house and showed me the 120 gal tank he has and said he needed to thin things out after two years. I think he was just a nice guy wanting to shair his love for the hoby. Or maby he took pitty on me becous I'm in a wheel chair now and have to live on a small SS disability income. What ever the reason it shure was nice of him. And I hope his kindnes comes back to him many times. Not to even start on how nice his tank looks I only hope I can do 1/2 as good with mine.
The three on the LR have been there and getting biger every day sence day 3 or 4 I just did not know what the purple stuf was till I seen the purple mushroom and then there was no dout they are the same. Purple frilly with tinny yellowish brown center that get bigger and smaller some times . I dont rember if I have said I got a peperment shrimp to and he is a lot of fun to watch. He runs all over the place and in and out of all the tunnels I maid in the LR. I may have to get out my camcorder and trypod to get him I don't think I will be able to get him with the web cam like I did with the feather.
