| I don't see what's wrong with the reg tank stand though. When i'm sitting my head comes up to the top of it so I don't see how it can be too tall for you.

| Your stand is nice. I didnt see that one at the lfs. Ive been looking online for one since your last post. Ive not found one for a 29 gal. bio cube yet and Ive been looking HARD! Where did you get it and how much did it cost? |
| ||||
| I got it at a store near me...called Aquarium Oddities. No online store if your asking. The cube was 212$ and the stand was 99$

| hey reefnoob, long time no see. your tank is looking good. i was upset at first when i started reading this entire post with zia knocking the bio-cube but looks like you turned her away from the darkside. i need to post a new pic, i have made some changes to my tank as well. by the way...i love my jawfish too...he burrowed out 2 tunnels but for some reason decided to take up residence in the front of the tank on the right side corner. he has it dug out all the way to the bottom and just sits there all day moving pieces around when the other fish or crabs knock something down into his home. got a bi-colored blenny today, they are so cheap but so cool...lots of personality for such a lil fish. as soon as i get a new digital camera(mine died friday for no reason) i'll start posting pics again...good luck zia..take lots of pics for us to see. steve |

| They don't have to be in an established tank, they eat meaty foods but i've seen mine eating flake food

| Ive been thinking about how I can get more light into my biocube without having to change the lights that come standard in it. Couldnt I get one of those lights that attach to the tank that can be directed where you want the light to go? That way I can keep my standard lighting and just ad to it. Also, how and where will I attach a protein skimmer on the tank? I learned from having freshwater fishes that the cleaner the water is the better so I want to have a protein skimmer on this tank but Im not sure where it goes. |
| ||||
| the skimmer goes in the overflow/ refugim area. it is on the back near the intake.

| Thanks for the info about the angel fish blind. Im going to let the tank mature then get one. Generally are any of the smaller ones agressive? Could I put in a firefish first then get a Angel later? By the way, Im a female. I just have a guys name. ![]() Im glad the skimmer hangs on the sump. Ill check out the kits. |

| Below is a description of a lighting kit from nanotuners. I dont know if my tank is a 2006 model or not. I cannot find a serial number on the back of the tank so Im assuming its a 2006 and not a 2007. The guy at the lfs doesnt like me very much because I hve to bring my 4year old boy with me when I go there and he doesnt like little kids. I already have 36W lights with 10.000.00K on the tank. Is the kit below better than what I already have? It looks to be basically the same lights I have now but Im not totally sure. Im not sure and that is what the lfs owner likes about me. lol. BUT when I get sure that lfs owner is going to hear about it from me. lol If you are looking to upgrade your 2006 Oceanic Biocube 29, this is the kit for you. Featuring 1 additional PC lighting engine that fires 2 x 36w Bulbs, and a reliable fulham ballast, this upgrade will allow you to get more light into your cube. If you are looking for a Factory Fit and Finish, this is the kit for you. Most users report temperature DROPS of 1-2 F with the installation of this mod. This is due to the increased airflow our heat shield provides. Choose the Actinic Blue Bulbs for extra vibrance in your corals and the ability to do Sunrise/Sunset simulation. Enjoy the following features: Increased Lighting Intensity More Spectral choices Sunset/Sunrise - Staged Lighting (choose Actinic Bulbs) Increased airflow Better bulb Performance & bulb life Kit Includes: 1 - Nanocustoms 4 x 36w Heat Shield 1 - Fulham Pony 232 - 2x36w 2 - BJB GX11 Lampholder 2 - BJB Bulb Clip 2 - 60x60x10mm Fans 1 - Remote Ballast Lead 1 - Aluminum Remote Ballast Box 1 - Power Cord 1 - DC Jack 6 - Moonlight Spacers Detailed Step by Step Instructions [PDF 10MB] Choice of bulb included (JBJ 10000K Daylight, Nanocustomst 5050- 10K/Actinic Blue, Nanocustoms Actinic Blue) |

| As long as it says for the 29 gallon biocube...it should be under DIY lighting kits or something like that. Just make sure your getting enough wattage for your $$, only upgrading 36 watts isn't that much but I did and went from 72-108 watts
