Default Power head for Bio Cube:

Hey for everyone who has a bio cube did anyone add a power head for more water movement? An if anyone did could you tell me what worked good for YOU. Not sure if one should be added or not?

On my 12s I don't use extra phs. I did upgrade the pump on my Aquapod to a MJ 900 though.

All depends on size. If you have the 29 gal cube I would put one in. Don't think it is needed for the samller ones.

Maxijets are reasonably priced & work horses. Nothing more than the MJ 900. Hydor Koralia or Seio but be prpepared to pay more for them.

Hi, I added a spray bar behind the rock in back.. here is pic.... added H20 movement and keeps the crap from ending up stuck behind the rocks... Used a Maxijet 306 ( i think) and cut down a skinny plastic spraybar to fit...

from side

notice cannot see it from front.

Pics while cycling so nothing in tank to obstruct it anyway..

Kim I really like what you did with your tank, I want to get more movement b/c stuff seems to sit on the rocks and every time i clean my tank i always take out the rocks and clean them too, but that gets old since I have 40plus pounds of rock in my tank. Your spray bar idea is something i would like to try. How has this helped your tank? Keep it alot cleaner I would assume I have a friend that got rid of his salt tank but told me he had five power heads laying around so im trying to get one off him for cheap. Thanks for the idea Kim...
