The tanks looking good, has the blue linckia star been hard to take care of or rather easy???

Is that a light blue linkia or does it just look lighter in the light? Either way nice set up.

Dustin- Some linkias are evil and make you cry while others are awesome and seem to work very well for the tank. I went through two in maybe a year in a half, but my third one I have now is actually very hardy and cruises around the tank all day long....I mean he really hauls butt. If you can get one that isn't picky with food then you are in luck.

Beautiful additions to any tank

I was just wondering because my LFS has one that was just traded in and it has the right price on it.

I wish I could keep some tangs too but tanks less than 75 gallons just really aren't suitable for that yellow and blue hippo tang you have. It is inhumane to keep them in that confined of a space. Your tank looks good though! I would just think about trading them or selling them to someone with a bigger tank.

The Blue Linckia Star also needs a much larger more established tank than yours... I am no expert I just am going off of what I have read and what the "experts" have told me. I'm just trying to save you from the heartbreak of losing your starfish to starvation.

ive read 50+ gallons on tangs, but your tank is perty open, not a very crowded reef.

they should be fine? my best guess.
i know nothing about starfish.

Mark my words...That Hippo Tang will get ich and die in that tank. They grow way to quick. That fish will be 6 inches by next year. Poor fish...they dont even have a choice. They need a tank 3 times that size IMO

Thanks for all your concerns on the tangs but they love my tank and I will be moving too a 180 gallon in the next few months IMO no fish likes being in any size tank they would rather be in the wild. The blue star linka has been in my tank for 3 months and has plenty too eat plus I know what I'm doing haven't lost one living creature yet but a few people think this and that will die oh well just keep proving all the experts wrong here. LMFAO

I do believe I saw AND heard the gauntlet being thrown!!

Looks like you got a hardy linkia like I have...Congrats!! Those devils are hard to come by. Do you do supplemental feedings? I try occasionally but I don't know if it is making a difference. Either way he's doing good

There is a big difference in thriving and just surviving but that is great you are moving your tangs over to a 180 gallon tank. Keep doing what you are doing if it is working for you: that is the best advice I ever got. Congrats on the hardy blue linckia starfish... they are a sweet addition to a reef tank.
