Default Question on Protein Skimmer

quick question all....I was going over the specs on a 24 gal Aquapod HQI and it seems sufficient however I then went to nanotuners and saw a Current USA "Fission" Protein Skimmer. Is this piece of equipment really necessary or is the "stock" protein skimmer good enough. I know I may have to add a maxijet but I'm not too worried about that. There was also a good chiller on there the nanocustoms ICA 2.0 Aquapod 24. Not too expensive and it looks like it may be able to do the job if need be.....any and all comments again are always appreciated but never expected

Default Re: Question on Protein Skimmer

Well someone should just slap me. The fission isn't a protein skimmer it's a power filter LOL. Boy do I feel stupid. OK so now I ask is this really necessary (I know allot of websites say powerfilters are optional) but if it's going to help my tank out then I should more than likely look into it. thanks
