Default Cadlights vs Finnex

Hey all...very quick and obviously totally optional question but here goes. I went to my LFS today and wanted him to look up CADLIGHTS which he had never heard of before I mentioned them. He said today that cadlights are "junk" and they are having problems with there pumps. He said I should buy a Finnex tank. But the Finnex tanks aren't nearly as nice and cost the same as cadlights. Is my LFS right...are Finnex tanks better. Are Cadlights junk...I haven't heard any of you having problems so I assumed not. I think he's just trying to get a quick sale outta me what do you guys think.

Got me. But it seems like a pump is easy to replace. So if the only problem with Cadlights is the pump - no big deal. Just replace the stock pump with something else for $20 or $30 and there you go.

I am still researching tanks. I still do not know where I can put a tank. I do not know how stable my housing situation is now. I mean it is stable now, but I am thinking about a move. And I am changing jobs soon - the interview is on October 2.

So I have no plans to buy anything now. Which is good. It gives me more time to look at systems.

He probably said the Cadlights are junk because he doesn't sell them. Most people swap out the pumps on cubes anyway so no big deal even if they are bad.

Anthony,
There is an easy way to prove or disprove your LFS claims. Read review after review after review. Many online sites that sell these have a testimonial section and many are not afraid to call a piece of junk a piece of junk. It is quite possible that is what he sells. Either way, do not buy any equipment from an LFS unless you price online first. Most of the time you can save a few bucks, even after shipping and handling, from an online vendor. LFS will mark that stuff up. So read read read!

thanks Becky and Gary. To be honest after this post I did both a google and an ask search to look for anynegative comments about the cadlights system. I couldn't find one. Not even anything about the pumps....so (and this is just a guess mind you) I think my LFS is pulling my leg. In any event the cadlight system is the tank I'm going to get now..no more questions about which is what where when. If the pump goes then it goes...I can always buy one of those nice ones all you guys talk about so much (ie seicko etc.)
