Default New 10 gallon...

Hi all, my poor black nemo was getting picked on by my 2 other orange nemo's so I setup my 10gallon just for him. I will try to get pics of him soon, poor guy, fins are all chewed up, but I am pretty sure he will survive, he seems to be a fighter

I learnt from others not to mix the clowns, I have a fireclown in my fowler because the maroon in my reef will attack him

Ya they were all fine until they seemed to get older and make their own spaces, then all of the sudden one week the orange ones turned on the black one for whatever reason. I have learned my lesson to say the least about mixing clown fish, no more!

Thanks for the comments, will post some pics of him soon.

Here are some pics of my little guy, sorry pics are not that great. Stupid point&shoot camera, need a new one You can kinda tell though his fins are beat up, he also has some weird white spot on his mouth, not sure what it is. Was not there last night, almost looks like he dipped his head in the sand. After I took the pics it is already going away, so who knows...

Thanks for the comment. Ya I love black clowns too, that's why I setup his own tank just for him, was totally worth saving him I am nervous about getting him a friend though, don't want them to fight. Anyone think it's ok to add another black one at this point? Sometimes people say only put clownfish together at the same time, but don't add them at seperate times...not sure?

well, I think it would be safe its its smaller or same size as him, so then he will be the dominant one and become the female. and they are not really territorial, but you could move few stuff around to be on the safe side

Ya I was thinking the same thing on making sure he was around the same size or smaller. I went to my LFS today and they had one, but he was so much bigger I didn't get him, oh well. Maybe another time, I will keep you guys updated either way

I am actually just using a hang on back filter setup, no skimmer. In such a small tank I think it does just fine and is all that's needed, just my opinion though, I am sure others will disagree with me, but oh well.

The filter uses a carbon filter cartridge and is rated at 100gph, so it's nice and powerful for a small tank.

Good luck with yours.

Thanks sounds good. I think that I might also use one of my oversized filter as well and see how it goes.

I just put a smaller false perc in with my other one which has been in my tank for about 3 weeks. i took the one i have had out and put her in a bag while i went to my LFS, floated him side by side then let them go in my QT. rearranged the live rock and then put them in the main tank... i know, i probably didnt have to do all that but i would rather be safe than sorry... they were fine though and he was really submissive to her (smart man). now im just waiting for them to discover that they can host in my BTA
