i mentioned in the anenome and clownfish section that my sis in law bought me a carpet anenome yesterday. while we were at my LFS...she decided she just had to have one of the bio-cubes...so i have officially added another saltwater addict into our family.

she ended up getting the 8 gallon cube, picked out some fiji rock and some live sand and pre-mixed water and took it home. she actually thought the owner was just going to sell her his floor model which had already been up and running for like 6 months...it had everything already in it, shrooms, anenomes, a cleaner shrimp and the usual cleanup crew plus some other stuff....he was laughing at her..."I'M NOT SELLING YOU MY SET-UP"..she was like..come on..how much???? too funny.

i think she is gonna have some hearthache with it. i told her exactly how to set it up and to just let it run. she called me last night asking why the pump was so noisy...i asked her how much water there was in that chamber..was it at the max line..she was like no its almost empty...LOL...i was like dont you think the pump needs water to pump...she thought the tank was going to overflow if she put anymore water into it because the actual tank was filled up.

i am hoping once she gets settled in she comes with me to my various LFS, especially the TROPICORIUM over in romulus. i would more than ever like to help her stock it up..maybe snag a few pieces for myself..hehehehehehe.

HAHAHAHA...i know i know...actually you mean the 29gallon. i tried to minimze her workload plus it has to fit on her desk at home. i am all excited for her like a kid in a candy store. i wanna call her in a bit and maybe drive out that way and after hit moby dicks fishstore out in waterford, never been there but figure, why not. kind of far away.

well i just got back from visiting my sis in laws house to see her tank set up. she did a good job with her fiji rock setup. she didnt have the carbon filter cartridge installed correctly, had to fix that and wipe it down..too many smudges.

then we were off to the LFS by her to look around, give her some ideas. needless to say, even though she just turned it on yesterday night..we came home with some pulsating xenia and some shrooms for the coral..and she grabbed a chromis and a clownfish.

she even grabbed me a six line wrasse for my tank. he is acclimatizing right now, cant wait to add him, maybe he'll clean up all the worms in my tank.

almost got a free upside down jellyfish but was told they really dont like any flow in a tank, kind of like sea horses..might wind up in the filter or smashed up against some live rock.

i know exactly what you mean. she is just barely ahead of the game by using the premixed water instead of mixing it but i am guessing she'll probably lose her clown and the xenia...the chromis might survive and the shrooms will probably make it. i think she'll calm down though...she has so many things going on over there i doubt she'll have time to revisit the LFS for anything else anytime soon...I'LL TRY TO KEEP HER IN CHECK...it's hard though when she buys me freebies.
