Default what's with all the bubbles?!

Hey guys I have a fairly well established 24g open top, MH, nano tank with 4 fish, a anemone, and a few corals. All of my levels are perfect and my water changes are quite frequent; but I'm noticing that my algae (green and red) is spreading very rapidly and it is producing a ton of bubbles on my live rocks. Is this common? How do I prevent this from spreading even more? It has spread to almost every inch of my rocks and all I can do for now i scrape it off but it reappears a day later. Any suggestions?
Jeremy

Sounds like cyano. How much live rock do you have, and how much flow? How much and often are you feeding? Try cutting back on the feedings to start with.

Whats in your tank as far as cleanup crew ?

Algae is pretty inevitable and seems to come in phases.

Can you take pictures of the Algae?

Doesnt sound good but before anyone can help we should see a pic if thats possible.

Might I suggest you read PEST ALGAES in the RB library.

This same thing is happening to me so i went out and bought some 3 more snails and 3 more blue leg hermits and these son of guns must have been hungry b/c they are knocking this stuff right out. I also added power head hydor K for a nano tank and this has helped also.

this looks like bubble algae, it can take over your tank, not a good thing. add more snails just to be safe, and keep this nusance in check.

If it is bubble algae do not pop the bubbles. This just makes them multiply out of control. You need to suck them carefully out of the tank or get so clean up critters that will eat it.
