Default newbie saying hi thinking of a native style tank

Hi All!

I bought a big tank 130 gallons. And I built it into a wall at my new computer business.

I am now wondering what to do with it?

I live very close to the Bay and am thinking of setting up a native style tank. Using fish and animals right from the bay.

Part cheap guy, part environmental guy (its my real field).

i also fish a great deal and am on the water alot.

I haven't found much about it, particularly to New England.

I realize that I have the issue of fish eating each other and such, like my friend said keep then the same size so they have a hard time getting them in their mouths!

Just researching right now....Any thoughts?

You definitely ought to think about collecting some Caribbean tropical species locally, however you cannot do this again until the early summer at best. There is a write up in Reefs Magazine on how the Long Island club does this.

Welcome to RB Mike!

The first thing that I would do is to find someone locally that does this and knows what the laws are governing collecting fish or other species out of the ocean in your area.

Here's a link to the Long Island Reef Association, which may help you find some good contacts. Long Island Reef Association.org
