 can you tell me what i have growing? i need to know what this is. i have had this tank for about a year now and this thing grew and i don't know what to tell people what it is when they ask can any one help?  so ya what is it?Last edited by polyp_prison; 05-13-2008 at 06:04 PM.  |

WOW hey its been there a year umm thats bad its an aptasia ( messed up spelling) you need to get some thing to remove it like aptisa remover thats like a liquid that you squirt it at directley to kill it but dont try cutting it cuz it would relase spores and youll have like another 4 within a week ...

| Re: can you tell me what i have growing? Yes, aptasia. Get some "Joe's juice". It will kill it. They are bad because they will kill fish and other things in the tank. |

| Re: can you tell me what i have growing? yes very bad aptasia good thing you caught it early. it's an anemone that infests your tank and will kill everything. how,long ago did u notice? cause i can't imagine u havin this for a year and still not infested. |

| Re: can you tell me what i have growing? FYI - peppermint shrimp will eat aptasia if there is not other food sorces for them to feed on. |

| Re: can you tell me what i have growing? i noticed it a long time ago. it has been growing for at least a few months now and it really has not seem to done anything to harm anything but i ordered the joe's juice so i guess i will be getting rid of it soon. |

| Re: can you tell me what i have growing? I have about 100 of them.. they have killed all my coral.. Its a really sad site... now my tank is just a FO.. bc it has killed about $1000 of coral... but I didnt know thats what was killing them till it was too late. Get rid of them b4 they multiply.. its terrible. |
