Well my first question is, i have a coralife t-5 double linear strip 30 inch 10,oook daylight is that enough light to keep coral in right now i just have live rock in the tank. It all depends! There are certain Corals that need clean water to thrive, as there is certain corals-gonioporas for example, that thrive better in dirty water. I just lost a Torch because I was trying to ween my tank from the skimmer. My tank is a "mixed reef" meaning I better keep a skimmer on my tank. Your LFS is not the best source of info IMO. Now on the other hand your LRF can and will help you a lot. but in the end it will ultimately your decision as to what you put in your Tank!
Happy Reefing!
