Default air stones ???

in saltwater is it advisable to have an air pump
and airstone introduce extra oxygen into the aquarium?
or is this only for freshwater aquariums and
not advisable for saltwater? why ? thanks, jim

I personally run a smaller air stone in my tank..... If something happens causing a pump to sieze or filter or skimmer to stop an air stone will keep oxygen in the water and keep things going till the problem can be remedied.

Mine is a precautionary , its in a corner about a third of the way down the tank where bubbles cant get trapped. No harm in that....under the sand, under rocks, Im not sure about but making sure your fish can breathe is never a nad idea.

Might not be a bad idea to do run an airstone in the sump (if you have one).
