The Amonia is common in a tank that is starting its first cycle. The bad news is you only need 1 damsel to help cycle the tank and they have been added to soon and might not live thru the cycle. The good news is Damsels are cheap and if they do die you can scoop them out without losing a lot of money.

Next time you cycle a tank use a piece of shrimp from the grocery store. Its cheaper and no lives are lost that way.

You could take the fish back to the LFS and let the tank complete its cycle or keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best. Let us know how it goes and ask more ???s if you got em.
