| New to the Hobby (Getting Started/Setting Up) Think you can upgrade to saltwater? Your probably very confused, but remember ask questions and you'll get your answers on here! |

 Sand question When I add sand to my tank that has already cycled, will it cycle again? I just have a few snails and hermits in the tank now. Thanks, Deb:confused:

| Anytime you increase the bio load in your tank the tank will cycle a bit. From adding "live sand" you may notice a small ammonia spike but I would not worry about the health of your Snails and Hermits. |

| if you had fish or corals i would reccomend adding a little at a time. to avoid the amonia spike. if you vaccum your sand or gravel you will lose some over time after a few years you will need to add more to replace it so this is just a future reference.
