Default Nano Project

Hey all! Now I know that I'm not all that new to the hobby (but I AM fairly new), but I thought I'd let y'all in on my little project. I'm purchasing an Oceanic BioCube 14 that should be here next week and making a step-by-step guide out of it for anyone interested in doing a nano setup. I got all my stuff from Drs. Foster and Smith already...just waiting on the BioCube from another online order. Here's some pics of my 15 some-odd lbs of live rock in my "curing" tank

I plan on making this into a reef. I want to keep some mushrooms, zoos, and sarcophyton to test and hone my propogation skills. I'll most likely keep some clowns and a goby as well for entertainment.

I would love to have a nano so cool! I will probably try to start one in the far far future.

Looking good. I'm starting one this weekend for the wife's office. How deep is your sand bed?

We've got a great little nano (12 gal.) that I love!!! It sits in our living room and is a nice accent to our larger 125 gal. All animals/plants/corals are doing excellent in it!!!

It's about a 2" sand bed. I don't like real deep sand beds, not a big fan of the look.

I have a new update....the tank is here and setup. Here's some pics for ya'll. I'd also take suggestions for stocking lists. Right now I'm thinking a few mexican turbo snails, some astrea snails, about 10 blue-leg hermit crabs, a skunk cleaner shrimp, a pair of ocellaris clowns, and a sand-sifting goby of some sort (still unsure of which one I want). I am totally open to suggestions on corals, but I know I want some zoanthids. Thanks for suggestions, and enjoy the pics!

With these next two I'll illustrate the importance of white balance. The first is without white balance adjustment. The second is the exact same lighting conditions with a manually set white balance.

Alright I'm a little handicapped, so here's the other two pics....first one is without white balance adjustments, the second is with.

It's mostly Fiji, but there is a tiny bit of tonga branch in there.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I got a 12 gal nano. Yours is looking awesome. I wish my tank had vents on the bottom to go into the filtration system like yours does. Mines only got vents at the top. The tank is doing pretty good except I can't keep my water chemisty perfect like I want. And I'm having coral issues. I've allready lost my expensive brain coral. Here's a pic of my tank so far.
