Default algae question

i have small patches of bright green algae growing. so far it does not seem to be slime or hairy. is it the good kind of algae growth or no? i've been treating my water lately due to high phosphates and i got it down to .5 ppm. it was around 1.5 ppm earlier in the week. it should be comming down within the next 24 hrs or so. the green algae started to appear within the last 48 hours if that helps any.

A picture will help. If it is "bright" green as you say it may be coraline starting. Does it wipe off easily?

A picture would be very helpful for identifying. Since you have high phosphates, there is a good chance it is a bad algae.
