Icon13 Searching for a good Skimmer. Any Ideas??

Hi Everyone, I have decided to build my own sump and need a good skimmer. This is for a 90 to 110 gal tank. I saw one while doing some reaserch that looked pritty good.

It was an Aqua C EV-180 with a mag 7 to run the filter. Is this skimmer any good? It's almost $400 !! It is rated for 60-200 gals Also I was looking at the next step up. The EV-200 rated to 350 gal tanks. They both had a 275 gph rating. Is it worth the extra $ for the larger skimmer or is this over kill?

Also while I have your attention, I also need a good return pump. I'm thinking it sould be able to pump about 1200 gph so that by the time it gets to the head I will effectivly have about 1000 gph. Sure would like come comments on a good reasonablelly priced pump and skimer.

I have heard that the Aqua C's are good skimmers, not sure if going to the next one up is that different but I know others here have those skimmers and can tell you more.

I really love my Deltec MCE600, it's a hang on so it could go either inside the sump or outside it and it pulls all kinds of junk from my 55gallon, better than my Berline turbo did. They are pricey but, I've seen them on ebay for about the price of the Aqua C that you're looking at. In my opinion, very worth the money though!
