Default Tampa Bay salt water live rock Question

I started a new reef tank & put in some TPS live rock. I'm trying to cycle it, but have been having a tough time with ammonia, nitrite, & phosphate levels. My local aquarium retailer tells me today that I will probably never get the phosphates down because the rock naturally has a high phosphate level before they aqua culture it. Does anyone here have any long term experience with this rock and if so, is this true? I hate to invest lots of money in the new tank only to have problems down the line. Any info on the subject would be helpful. Thanks

Had not heard the thing about phosphate in TBS rock before but that doesn't mean it's not true. Have you tried contacting them direct,
813-875-3574 maybe ask the question of them. Aso had not heard before about cycling problems. Usually the rock you get from them is so fresh you get little to no cycle.
Oh yeah to RB!
