Default Green junk on glass

I followed advice in my thread on "help w corals" on Soft Coral Forum to try to rid my 90g mixed reef of green junk on the glass...
upgraded flow to 1500 gph from 900, cleaned the detritus off the LR, re arranged the LR to allow more "holes and caves" & got rid of the rock "shelf" against the back wall of the tank.
Cut the photo period by 2 hrs a day. Bulbs are only a few months old...520 w compacts
Was gone for 3 days and the glass was covered on all sides with this thin greenish-brown algae.
Now what ???
I'm wondering if my skimmer is too small.
It's a Pro Clear 75 I think. came w the sump.

Film algae on glass is an issue for many people with powerful lights. Most people just clean their glass every day or two using a magnet scraper. If your water quality is great and you dose minimal additives, you may be able to only have to clean your glass once every couple weeks. I run a lightly stocked tank with a large skimmer and ozone and I only need to clean my glass once every 2-3 weeks, but my tank is an exception to the standard.

BTW - No, your skimmer isn't ideal, but I'm not here to recommend you spend money if you don't have to so I'd just recommend using a magnetic scraper on your glass every day or two unless you are seeing signs of other problems.

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep on cleaning. I might upgrade the skimmer later on. It gets backed up with junk in the venturi if it's not cleaned evry 2 or 3 days.
