Default Questions on a skimmer

Ok I am able to get a coralife for 50 from someone local, I am having the luck of testing it for a week to see how it works. I have noticed that everynow and then when I look I see no bubbles and then I tap it or just wait a min and it starts working again. Has anyone else had these problems before? And if so, is the coralife an ok skimmer. Or should I just buy something else new. My budget is only around 150-200 for a simmer. So I don't have too much in range for this. Please any comments would be awesome.

I have a coralife super skimmer 65. Works real well, with no issues. The local pet stores recomended it over the other cheap models. I ended picking it up for 120 - 130 shipped online.

It is amazing what it takes out of the tank.

Not to be sally downer face but im not a fan or coral life products. LFS mark up on skimmers is huge. If your budget is 150-200 i would recommend a skimmer from Aqua C. The have a one of a kind design that is full proof.

I picked up my CSS 125 skimmer from my lfs brand new and it only cost me $130. It was a good deal so I picked it up and I have been using it on my 65g reef. So far I havent seen any problems with it. Empty the collection cup every other day and a quick cleaning once a week and thats all it needs.
