Default help with lighting

iam starting a new tank i bought a tall 37 gallon tank 18x20x25 im confused about the lighting source i should buy. a buddy of mine said i should use the gal to watt ratio. but i want a couple of opinions before taking the dive. im looking to keep a couple fish and maybe some corals later later on. i like power compacts so i just want to know more or less what lighting i should buy.

thanks

It depends on what corals you want to keep? for fish only you can just use standerd florecent lights

With an aquarium that deep, I would recommend T5 with individual reflectors or MH lighting if you want to keep corals lower down in the DT. I have used watts per gallon successfully with PC and MH but no experience with T5.
