Default Substrate Question

I have bought, from my LFS, Nature's Ocean Reef Sand. However, they don't stock enough of the stuff, IMO...i.e. I bought the only 20 lbs that they have.

Everything I'm find about this stuff is good, but I can't get enough of it at one time.

Hence, my question...Can I mix manufacturers of sand? Or is that not a good idea?

Thanks

Default Why Not Mix Sand

I do not see a reason why you could not mix sand. Lots of people buy their live rock a little bit at a time which can come from different reef area's of the world so why not introduce different sand. Thats my opinion I have crushed coral and have been thinking of adding a little sand.

Default

It shouldn't be a problem.
JV - you probably would want to remove the cc - with the difference in particle size, the sand will eventually find its' way through the cc & end up at the bottom.
