Default lighting

At the moment we turn the lights on and off by switch, this seems abit of a sudden change to me is there any peice of equipment out there that would gradualy switch the light's on and off to make it more like the sun rising and setting. If so any suggestions on where to obtain it.

Depends on what type of lights you have - some can be dimmed, but most can't.

Ditto the above comments. Most fixtures can't be dimmed, but certain higher end ones can. Also, fixtures that have multiple plugs for different bulbs can help to gradually increase the lights by having some bulbs come on earlier than other using timers.
