Reef tanks are a particular type of saltwater tank where the emphasis is on corals, live rock & invertebrae. Usually have very few fish.

just ask my meat coral... a once upon a time fat, round, beautiful disk that amost got picked to death by a replacement valintine puffer. the origional never bothered it but when he jumped (2 yrs after purchase) i replaced him with another. two days later i had him back at the lfs. and yes i knew that he might pick on it but i figured my first one didn't. now my meat coral is all scarred and bubbly looking. my fault. so don't make the same mistake, not reef safe means just that.
