I tried sending a picture it said it was to big of a file. Any suggestions on how I can send it for I have a good picture of it, but I do not know how to post it. I just tried sending a copy of the picture that is stored on my computer as an image, but it probably will not show up.

Well sarha Here is a new attempt at showing my photos. I hope this works. These photos show two different rocks the one with the green stems growing out, and where I got my purple mushroom to land. The other one is the piece I bought with the 3 mushrooms attached and a new growing out underneath. This also has red branches comming out of it. Last edited by rstroede; 04-01-2007 at 10:54 AM. Reason: Trying to get photo to show.

Neomeris sp. phylum, chlorophyta, class dasycladophyceae, order dasycladales. this alge can lay dormant on live rock for up to two years before reapearing . it is slow growing and reach a hight of 1 inch or so, needs strong lighting and won't grow in water with a nitrate level of more than 20mg/liter. at times i have had alot of this stuff but my powder brown or my koles tang have made short work of it. [ps i have a book!]

| Thanks sarah!! I am in need of a good book also!

Thanks everyone for enlightening me on what it was. Now my only other question is it ok to keep in the aquarium, and I also have two others that have just sprouted up, All of my measurements have been in specification, and I do a 1 gallon water change every two weeks, I also noticed that my purple mushroom that was not attached ahas just attached to a live rock, and it is now bigger than my light brown mushroom. Also can anyone make any comments on Blue Zoanthus Polyps for this is what I am thinking of putting in my tank late next month. I found a nice one with 10 polyp for around $67.00. I am also looking at Aquacultured Red Sea Pink/white Xenia Umbellata which will cost around $50.00. Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated. I also am wondering if a moth and a half is ok time to wait in adding a new corral. I do not want to go to fast and kill anything.

Its called fuzzy tip algae in the book I have.. I just pluck them off the rock, they feel like vinyl, kinda weird.. my tangs dont touch it... They grew out of no where like 7 months into it... Seem harmless to me, not to invasive, havent been growing back as I pluck em neither...

Thanks againeveryone. I think I will just leave them for now, I have not been getting much algae growth since that first spike after my live rock cycled. I got three blue legged hermit crabs, and two snails as my clean-up crew, and there is not much for them to clean-up. I might have to go and buy algae for then, or I think I might have read somewhere that you can feed them dried seaweed if I am not incorrect. I tend to forget things , due to so much reading. I do not want to put anything else in till late next month. Randy
