Default Experience needed

Ok, I finaly set up my tank; Its 29 gal, w/ an eclipse 3 filtration and illumination system, I put marine glo lights, 20 lbs of live rock, 20 lbs of live sand, a rio 800 water pump, thermometer, no skimmer cause I was told by lfs that I wont need one, put large amounts of amquel and novaqua, salinity is right, its been running for about a day and is still very cloudy. Any suggestions about what to do next and what to expect?

Appreciate the help!

My plans are to have about 5-6 fish and some easy coral.

It will take a few days for the cloudiness to subside. Check how you pump is circulating the water. You may be disturbing the sand. If I were you, I'd get the skimmer no matter what the lfs says. There are 2 important things in a reef tank - a good skimmer & good lighting.

Position it higher up in the tank & direct the flow so it's not hitting the bottom of the tank.
