Default Lighting Question

I Read That You Need 3-5 Watt Per Gallon For Efficent Lighting. I Have A 46 Gal Bow Front Which Has A Perfecto Single Bulb Hood On It.. Does That Mean I Need A Minnimum Of 138 Watts For Lighting For My Tank?? Also, Im Assuming I Need A 2 Or 4 Bulb Hood Right?

How long is the tank?
Find bulbe that run the entire length without hanging over the edge.

The wattage of the bulb is the same for a given length, as long as you are talking about the same type (PC vs. T5)
