| I dont personally have any experience with the Arogocrete, but when i set up my next tank that is what i plan on using. I plan on making it all myself though not buying it from GARF. Had a bad experience with GARF.

Personally, I wouldn't be adverse to using it myself, but...I would think about making it myself, and just buying a few pounds of LR from a local source. But....That's just cuz I'm cheap. ![]()

I read the whole garf article and I thought it was great idea till I found out they want it to cure in fresh water for several week....the wait would make me crazy lol. The white concrete mix they want you to use is not at the lowes I was in this morning the rest can come from pet smart. The end result is very nice though.

Thank you all for your input. It seems that there is general acceptance of the idea so far. I'm in agreement with the idea of making it myself, and then adding a couple of pounds of LR from the LFS. Now I just need to find some white cement and get it going. No problem on the waiting while it sits in freshwater for a while since I ordered the JBJ 28g HQI and have yet to receive it. Michael

The Aragocrete is great, and actually they encourage you to make it yourself. Just make sure you do mix it with some cured live rock to seed it and you're fine.
