Default Issues with Live Sand

The first problem is that I purchased some live sand, and the 2 day delivery took a week, so it was pretty dry when I got it and i'm sure not much lived. I put the sand in almost 2 weeks ago and the water is still cloudy. Just as it seems to clear up, it because a bit cloudy again. I have a 20 gallon tank with a filter made for a 40 gallon, which I thought would help clear it. The only thing I think it could be is where I have the bubble cascade on the sand. Maybe if I placed it on the side wall it would solve this? The fish seem to be uneffected. I have a Sleeper Gody, Mandarin dragonet, chocolate star, nemo, blue damsel, green chromis, 4 stripe damsel and 2 blue legged hermit crabs. Also have one live rock, approximately 5 pounds. Sand is about 1 1/2 inches deep.

Look at your circulation - you could be disturbing the sand causing the fine dust to cloud the water.

I would go with glampka on this one. Everything I read says that sand shouldn't take THAT long to calm down. More than likely, your flow is too much and disturbing the sand.
