Default Is This Normal????

My tank has been cycling for two weeks. 24g w/: 20# LS; 33# LR; lots of brown algae. My tests show 0 ammonia, nitrites, nitrates. These all spiked within the first week and went down after my first water change. Calcium is a little low 250. I noticed pods last night but haven't seen them since. I noticed a grey colored worm about 3/4 in it looks like a bristle. There are hundreds of bubbles coming from my algae which is making my tank a little cloudy. What are these bubbles. I ordered a fission nano skimmer it should be in tomorrow. After that i will be adding a powerhead to increase flow on the back side of my tank. It seems to be moving fast for only beginning of the third week. Should I add my cleaner crew soon. My tank is looking bad from all the alage.

You definitely need that skimmer!!! Sounds like you have the first round of algae (diatoms) which can be a normal part of cycling. What type of filtration? What's your pH and alkalinity. You can get a two part calcuim additive which boosts both the calcium and alkalinity. The bristle worm is OK.

Id go ahead and throw a cleaner crew in. The bubbles are being produced by the algea.
