Default Piece of crap anemone

Bought a bubbletip anemone to go with the clowns. He has found a nice little spot in some of the LR and wont show himself very much. Sucks to cause he's about 7 inches across.

From my reading they like to bury their column in sand or in between rocks. Mine has a "routine" travelling in a 12 inch area, between my back wall and under some LR. I haven' figured out what makes it move between the two places.

Ya, when I first put him in the tank, he was a little higher on the rock so I moved him to the sand. Woke up and he was back on the rock. Oh well, I figure when he gets hungry he will show himself

Nick,

Did you try "bowl-feeding" the sun polyps yet ?

Just curious as to how you made out..

I put em in there for about 15 minutes and none of them would open up. However whenever I squirt some phytoplankton or cyclo-eeze into the tank they will all come out. Ive been putting in one cube of mysis shrimp in the tank every other day also.

I need to look into a skimmer for this tank cause Im having alot of floating matter in the column and I dont like it.

Works like this:

Bowl of tank water w/sun polyps, Cyclopeeze in bowl water w/sunpolyps, once they open, then feed the thawed mysis, stir the water up as needed for them to catch food, they wont catch it in the tank as they need it and will perish slowly...

give it another try, its a real pain in the butt I know but it'll make that coral thrive, it gets nothing from light and nothing from phytoplankton, needs a meaty food

Put the sunpolyps in a bowl of tank water, add cyclopeeze, they will open up after a few mins, (they should anyways) once they are open, add the thawed up mysis shrimps..

It may take longer then a few mins for them to open, dont get mad, but also dont leave em in more then 20 mins, I'd say..

it may take a couple days of 15min soakings in cyclopeeze for them to get "used to it" before you can get them to eat the mysis... but if they are opening in the tank, I see no reason for them not to open in the bowl...
