Default wet dry filters

I was thinking of getting a 90 gal. with overflow and using a wet/dry filter along with a protien skimmer and a canister filter. Does this sound OK and what keeps the 90 gal tank from siphoning into the wet/dry if you lose your power

i am fairly new but i am pretty sure it is the height of the drains in the overflow. as soon as the water cant enter the overflows anymore there is no more to drain as overflows are sealed off of the tank check out this sitehttp://www.melevsreef.com/allmysumps.html

Wet/Dry filters are nitrate factories. Nix that idea.
