Default Corals & creatures Do's & Dont's

Well I have my new light fixture for the tank.

It is a Corallife Lunar Aqualight,it has the double strip configuration. It has two 65 watt true actinic 03 blue bulbs, and two 65 watt 10,000k daylight bulbs. It also has four 3/4 watt lunar blue glow led lamps.

So the question becomes " what kinds of live corals and inverts can I safely house " in my tank. I have seen all kinds of Anenomes, and a lot of different types of Corals. What is acceptable and what will live and thrive?

Post how many gallons your aquarium is in your profile, it helps us out.
Also, what are your tank specs? (L, W, H, etc.)

Hi. It's a 55gal long.

I have a hang on canister filter ( Marineland Magnum )
A Prism Protein Skimmer
Two Powerheads for tank water movement
about 25lbs of Live rock ( I will be adding about another 40lbs sooner or later, sooner being the goal here )
Crushed Coral as my substrate
I will be adding an Eheim Wet Dry cannister filter
I have two Damsels ( 1 Blue, 1 black spotted )
an Algae Blennie
1 Snail ( large )
1 small crab ( not sure what type, he is the sole survivor of a cleaning crew bought almost two years ago now.
and 1 Cinnamin Clown that pretty much owns the tank.

Thats what I have right now.

1st off, if you can, get rid of the crushed coral & replace with live sand. The CC has a large particle size & detritus will get down into it & become a problem. The lighting you have will be good for lower light demanding corals like mushrooms, zoas & leathers.

You should be able to keep pretty much any soft of LPS coral under those lights in that tank. Some of the corals will grow very slow though.

I agree that replacing the CC with sand will help alot long term since CC gets detrius buildup in it. You may also want to think about adding another powerhead for additional circulation.
