Default Background

I have read somewhere that you must have a background on your aquarium. Granted I think that this is pure bs but I have gotten to thinking(very scary thought), And it would seem like putting one of the backdrops on your aquarium would at least help with something, otherwise why would they continue to sell it? Just looking for info.

The only thing it helps with is to hide whatever you have behind the tank & possibly add some "color". If putting a background was for the fish's sake, why wouldn't you cover all 4 sides???

I used a dark blue background, I have black now...

It makes the corals and colors stand out IMO...

Personally, I won't have one of any of my tanks yet. I rather prefer to be able to see what's back there, or in the case of my SW tank...I'd like to be able to watch TV, as it will be the room divider between the living room and my desk. LOL
