Default Sould I use my fluval 404?

hello, right now i have this current setup...180 gallon, reef ready tank, i have two magdrive 1200 pumps returning the two returns from the sump back into the fishtank...i have 250lbs live rock and 5 maxi jet 900 powerheads running....my question is i have a fluval 404 filter in my closet that i used to have on a freshwater tank., should i hook it up and use it with the reef tank.?...i was thinking of running it with carbon ...is this a bad idea?...i already have clear water, lots of movement, and a good turn over rate...i feel personally the more filtration the better, but im new to reef building and not sure if i should just keep the setup i have .....also what media should i put in the 404 if i do decide to use it with my current setup?....im guessing carbon, but if anyone has any other ideas that will help my reef, id like to hear them..
thanks..

You could run it with carbon if you needed to. But since you have the sump IMO it's not really needed. You'll get plenty of filtration from the LR/LS. Canister filters can become nitrate factories if you don't clean them on a very regular basis.

Most people think "More is Better". I follow the "KISS" method. The less there this, the less that can go wrong!
