Default The beginning

Hi! Yesterday, I brought home a 135 gallon gass tank with wood stand and cover. It is 72" X 18" X 24 inches tall. Following the salt water for beginners guide, I have a plan, but would sure appreciate suggestions before I look for supplies. I have read here about a "playground" sand from home depot for a base. Is it still available? I read that guide and wonder do I just put water in 1st and cycle, or add base, live sand, and live rock at the same time as the water? Looks like 10 #'s per square foot sand.

Iread about a combo filter-skimmer. Looks like I would need two. Or, should I go seperate? I looked at the guide and read 4 wattts per gallon, but see no way to achieve that with flourescents? This came with a single 72" tube fixture that I don't plan to reuse. Any brand specific experience with heaters? The tank came with 2 Aqua clear 50 powerheads, but I rewad that they are for subsand and I am not using that. How about the SEIOs? Is a "wavemaker" desireable? I am going for the reef, but plan to start with softer corals, etc.

Kind of long, but I would sure appreciate any advice.

Thank you!
