I was surfing the net researching protein skimmers. I came accross the eco-aqulizer web site that claims their product is better than running a protien skimmer at a fraction of the cost. Seems a bit suspicious to me but figured I'd canvass the group for your thoughts. Thanks.

I have one, seems to work OK, but also have a skimmer. Sometimes the skimmer is off, and I can not see any difference. When they are both on, my skimmer has no nasty output. But, I think it is only a magnet??, it says not to get the unit wet??? When I get a RO unit, plan to take the aqualizer off.

If it is better than a skimmer at a fraction of the cost then everyone would have it, especially since it's been around for close to 4 years.

The chemistry and physics involved with the magnetic (which is all it really is) is correct, however, there are flaws in the design as well as what happens to the water soon after it leaves the Aqualizer.

I've heard that they do promote slightly more stable pH and O2, but I really have no evidence or experience with them to back such a claim up.
