Default salinty high after water change

Today I did my first water change using my deionizer and instant ocean salt. My salinty is 35 a little high. Should I water change again ? I used the amount of salt adviised on the side of the box 1/2 cup per gallon.

Try removing water form the tank and replacing it with freshwater. This will bring down your salinity. Then if you need to, you can add more salt if it goes too low.

Yup....do what MoeDDS said.

I hope you're measuring your salinity before the water goes into the tank . Changes in salinity give fish a lot of stress.

I did another water change and my salinty is know okay. When you change the water in a small tank like mine 35 gallon I see how easy the salt can get out of wack. How about the temp- I only have live rock n it know but when I get fish if the water temp changes a couple of degrees after the water change are my fish
gonna be okay. I mean I have to turn off my heater to change the water and it takes awhile for the water to warm up after I turn my heater on again.

What you should be doing is mixing your water up the day before and letting it circulate with a powerhead while getting the temp the same as in your main tank. Your water should already be the same temp when you change it.
